A portable option for essential-device backup

The AC180 puts a 1,152Wh battery and 1,800W of continuous AC output in one portable unit. It is worth a look if you want to keep a few essentials powered during an outage or take battery power camping. Start with the devices you actually need, rather than assuming one battery will cover the whole house.

The numbers that matter

Battery capacity 1,152Wh
Continuous AC output 1,800W total across the AC outlets
Battery chemistry LiFePO4
Weight 35.3 lb
Charging options AC, compatible solar, vehicle, or generator

Specifications are from BLUETTI's AC180 product page. Check the exact package: solar panels and other accessories may be sold separately.

Can the AC180 run a fridge?

The important questions are whether it can handle your fridge's startup demand and whether its usable battery energy covers your runtime goal. Fridges cycle on and off, and their energy use varies. A momentary display reading or estimated time remaining is not a measured full-discharge runtime.

Steve owns the AC180, and the footage in our short shows his actual unit and connections. We have not established a controlled, full-discharge fridge runtime from these clips, so we do not promise a specific number of hours.

What to consider before ordering

  • Portability: At 35.3 lb, it is movable, but consider whether you want to carry it frequently.
  • Power versus runtime: Watts describe output; watt-hours describe stored energy. You need both to size a purchase.
  • Startup loads: Check your appliance requirements. BLUETTI's 2,700W Power Lifting mode is not a substitute for verifying compressor compatibility.
  • Your setup: Add up essential loads and decide how you would recharge during a longer outage.
