What I noticed using both at home

EcoFlow DELTA 2

  • The lighter weight matters more than it sounds when you are moving it room to room or loading it into a vehicle.
  • Six AC outlets give you more flexibility for several small loads.
  • Its extra-battery ecosystem makes more sense if you expect your backup needs to grow.
  • The tradeoff is less built-in capacity than the AC180 before expansion.

BLUETTI AC180

  • You get 128Wh more capacity in the box, which can matter during a longer outage.
  • Its compact shape is easy to place, but at 35.3 pounds it feels heavier to carry.
  • The 3,500+ cycle rating is reassuring for frequent use.
  • Four AC outlets are enough for many backup setups, but fewer than the DELTA 2.

Which is better for a refrigerator?

Both have 1,800W continuous AC output, so either can run many household refrigerators. The more useful question is runtime. A refrigerator cycles on and off, and its startup surge, room temperature, door openings, age, and efficiency all change the result.

A rough planning formula is battery watt-hours × 0.85 ÷ average appliance watts. The 0.85 factor is a practical allowance for inverter and system losses—not a promise. For example, a refrigerator averaging 100W could theoretically land around 8.7 hours on the DELTA 2 and 9.8 hours on the AC180. Your real result may be substantially different, so test your own refrigerator before an emergency.

Best choice by living situation

Apartment or condo

Either is much more practical indoors than a fuel generator because there is no exhaust during use. I would favor the DELTA 2 if stairs and carrying weight are major concerns, and the AC180 if you want the most built-in runtime in one compact box.

Household outage backup

The AC180 is my simple one-box pick for a refrigerator, router, phones, and lights. The DELTA 2 is the better foundation if you know you will add battery capacity later.

Camping and road trips

The DELTA 2 gets the edge because it is roughly eight pounds lighter. That difference is noticeable every time you move it.

Frequent daily use

The AC180 has the higher published cycle rating, while both use long-life LiFePO4 batteries. Usage, storage temperature, and charging habits still affect actual lifespan.

My bottom line

These are both capable 1kWh-class power stations. I would buy the BLUETTI AC180 for straightforward home backup and the EcoFlow DELTA 2 for portability or future expansion. The right choice is the one that matches your actual loads—not the model with the longest feature list.
